Last Summer Weekend

It finally hit me this afternoon as I was sitting at work, this weekend is the last weekend of summer! It just doesn't seem like classes will be starting again on Wednesday. I shouldn't complain though because a lot of my friends have already started class. I feel like I'm running behind this year. I am still waiting on some of my books to show up and I haven't even bought school supplies yet! Oh well, I think once class starts I will be ready for it to be here.

Yesterday I took part in Tommie Ambassador Training. All of the new and former Tommie Ambassadors got together for the fall training session. It was pretty fun. We played cool games and even went to the Minnesota State Fair when it was all over. That was by far my favorite part. I really enjoy the state fair; in fact I like it so much I'm going back on Labor Day before I head back to class. There is so much to eat! My favorite is the roasted corn, but I also really like Sweet Martha's Cookies and of course the corn dogs. I think I gain ten pounds every year just at the state fair!

If this is your last weekend before class starts, be sure to enjoy it! Have a good one and I'll talk to you later.

Back In St. Paul

The last of the boxes have been unpacked, the furniture has been arranged, the groceries have been bought, and everything is finally in place. I'm back in St. Paul and loving life back in the big city. This summer was great and it was really sad to leave my internship and family back home, but I am excited and ready for a new year here at St. Thomas. I started my new job in the Admissions Office this morning and it sounds like it is going to be a blast working here. If you're ever at the Admissions Office for a visit or tour of campus and you see me walking around the office, feel free to say hi! That way I know who is reading my blog!

Like I said before, this weekend was moving weekend. Moving can be really fun or a big pain. I experienced both this weekend. It's really exciting to move into a new place, get new stuff, arrange things the way you want them and all that, but it can also be a big pain moving big heavy things and putting stuff together. Oh well, I survived.

Being back on campus is great!I've already met up with some of my friends and we've been talking about what's all happened during the summer. It's weird to think that classes will be starting in just a few weeks! I don't know if I'm ready for that yet, but I'm sure when the time rolls around I'll be ready.

Enjoy the last couple weeks of summer everyone! Soon school will be starting and your college experience will begin!

One Week Left...

As I write this blog post, I really can't believe that I only have one week left here at home! I know I have said this probably a million times, but the time really went by fast! It seems like I just packed up and moved out of my room in Brady Hall, and now here I am packing up and getting ready to move back again! I had this weekend off from my internship so I actually did a lot of moving yesterday. It was exciting to move stuff into my new apartment. I really think I am going to like it. Being up in St. Paul again was fun too. Being in the familiar neighborhood, eating at Cafe Latte, and just having the hustle and bustle of the big city back was great. I'm going to be moving back up for good next weekend. It will be a lot of fun.

Of course, moving back to school means class will soon be starting up again. In fact, they start one month from today! I ordered my books (never my favorite part of the semester!) and they will be ready and waiting for me at the bookstore when I move back. How convenient! I am taking all communication and journalism classes this semester for my majors. I think it will be a good semester. I'm taking broadcast reporting, videography, rhetorical criticism, and political communication. Now that I'm taking more major focused classes, I know pretty much everyone in the class. That will be nice because a lot of the assignments and group related. Of course, it's always great to meet new people too.

Well that's all I know for now. Have a good week!
