Enjoying Some Free Time
The first day of summer has finally arrived!
For those of you who don't know, summer officially started last Friday night. It couldn't have come at a better time. I just finished up the first weekend of performances of The Wizard Of Oz. It went really well! It was a lot of fun to finally do the show in-front of an audience. They really enjoyed it. One of my friends from UST drove down with her mom to see the show on Sunday afternoon. She studied abroad at St. Thomas' Rome campus during the spring semester, so I hadn't seen her since I went home for Christmas vacation last year! It was really nice to finally talk with her again and catch up on so many different things. If I get some pictures from the show I'll be sure to post them on my next blog.
I have performances this weekend again, but there is no rehearsal this week, which means I finally get to enjoy some free time! It is so nice to go for a bike ride, take the dog on a run, or just sit outside next to a bon fire. Soon I will be back at school reading, studying, and writing papers, so I am taking advantage of all the free time I can get! I am also really looking forward to the Fourth of July...but I'll tell you why in my next blog. (I need something to write about next week!)
Hope everyone is having a great summer. Talk to you later.

It Just Doesn't Feel Like Summer
I don't know about you, but the cooler weather we've been having lately has really made me question what month we are really in. Is it really almost JULY?? Oh well, I sometimes like the cooler weather more than the blazing heat.
If you're an incoming freshman to UST, I'm sure you are getting ready for Orientation and Registration. I really enjoyed my O&R session. Being on campus, eating in the caf, getting your UST ID, registering for classes, it really makes you truly feel like a St. Thomas student once and for all. Plus you get to meet a lot of great people. Some of the people that were in my O&R group I am still friends with. It is a great chance to meet people right off the bat.
Besides working at my internship and being involved with the upcoming play, my life has been pretty boring lately. That's really all I've been up to! I literally get up at 7, go to work at 8, get back at 6, start rehearsal at 6, get done around 10:30-11, and then do it all over again the next day. It makes for a boring blog, but hopefully I'll be able to have a little more excitement in my next blog!
Have a good one.

Keeping Busy
Time flies...
It is hard to believe that I have been home for an entire month already! In another month and a half, I will be moving back up to UST. Time has gone by really fast. I have been keeping busy with my internship. The last two weeks I have been reporting on the air. It has been really exciting to go out, shoot a story, write it, and then put it all together and see it on TV later that night. It is really good experience that will help me later on down the road. On Monday I take a break from reporting and start working on the web. I am excited to work with that also. The website receives thousands of hits a day.
We're off to see the Wizard
Next weekend is the opening of "The Wizard of Oz". That has been keeping me busy as well. I am playing the part of the cowardly lion. I got a look at my costume the other day, and I think I am going to bake! It is a full piece lion suit, complete with mittens, a wig, and furry little boots. Add to that the stage lights and all the choreography, and it should be interesting.
Have a great rest of the weekend!

Talk about a long day!
27 hours...
That's how long I was at my internship yesterday! It was a very busy news day in South Dakota. The presidential primaries were held on Tuesday in that state and there were some other interesting elections as well. I got to go with a crew in the satellite truck and feed back live shots to the station all night long. It was really long, but a lot of fun to be apart of. When we finally got back to the station at about 2 AM I had to start working on stuff for the next day. I didn't get done with that until 4 PM! I've been home for a couple of hours now..and I am ready for bed! Good thing I have Thursdays and Fridays off!
It's only been two weeks?
I've only been home for a little over two weeks now, but it seems like I left St. Thomas so long ago! I have been keeping in touch with my friends from school. Some of them moved back home while others are on campus over the summer taking classes or working. Sometime over the summer I'll have to take a couple days and head back up to the Twin Cities for a visit. Pipestone, MN is great, but a town of 4,000 doesn't offer too much for excitement!
Well I need to get to sleep. I don't think I'm going to wake up until noon or later! 'Til next time.
