« Studying in the deep freeze | Main | Life in the Fast Lane » February 21, 2008Is it June Yet?I've always been a fan of winter, until this year! It is still bitterly cold up here at UST and walking across campus to class has been a test of strength lately. Hopefully it will start to warm up soon! This semester is now in full swing and I am really enjoying everything so far. My classes this semester are pretty interesting. I am only taking one communications class that will count towards my majors; the others are counting toward the core curriculum at St. Thomas. I am taking history, social problems, and ethics. They are really making me think in different ways and are proving to be more difficult than I initially thought. In my ethics class we are discussing the meaning of being "moral" and if that meaning even exists. It may sound like pretty deep stuff but once a conversation gets going in class it is hard to leave because it is so interesting. Outside of class I'm keeping busy with activities and my internship. Campus Scope is going strong again this semester and we will be taping our first episode next Friday. One of the guests on the show will be Dr. Carol Bruess, a communications professor at St. Thomas who recently wrote the book What Happy Couples Do. She has been doing a national press tour with the book, and found time to add Campus Scope to her schedule. We're pretty happy that she will be on the show. Well I have some sociology homework to do and some history to study for so I better get to it. Have a great weekend! --Shane Posted by Shane at February 21, 2008 03:17 PM |

... with Shane as one of the directors, who wouldn't be thrilled to be part of the show? Looking forward to being on.
- Carol Bruess, author of What Happy Couples Do and one of Shane's favorite professors of all time (right?)
