Ahhhhh....

It's official, the fall semester is over! It is really nice to not have to worry about studying, tests, projects, papers, or anything else for awhile. I got done with my finals on Wednesday and have been home since then. I thought I would blog from home to let you all in on what's going on.

The first half of this week was CRAZY BUSY! I was cramming for my finals and taking every spare minute to study just a little bit more. On Tuesday I had an interview at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis for a spring news internsip. That went well and this spring I will be an intern for them. I am really excited about that. It will be a great chance to learn a lot and meet a lot of great people.

Now that the week is over, life is a piece of cake! I really haven't done anything constructive since I've been home. Well, I guess I have done some things. I went to go visit my friends at the TV studio where I worked last summer and got some last minute Christmas shopping done. I also had to get a few last minute things for my study abroad course in South Africa. Keep in mind that I am going to a country that is currently in the summer season, and finding sun screen and bug spray in the middle of December in Minnesota is next to impossible! However, after an extensive hunt, I was able to find them.

Well not much else to report. Enjoy your time off from school!

Merry Christmas!

FINALS!!!

It's that time of year again, no I'm not talking about the holidays, I'm talking about FINALS! If there is one word that college students cower at, it's that one! Today was 'Study Monday' here at UST and the first finals start right away tomorrow morning. I have my math final tomorrow night and my Spanish and Theology finals on Wednesday. I will feel MUCH better when they are all done! Right now I am running on Diet Pepsi, Hershey’s Kisses, and Chipotle. If I seem a little loopy, that's why! I have spent the last five hours studying for my Theology final and then after that I have to crack open the good ol' Espanol libro y estudio MUCHO! Writing my blog is a good excuse to take a break from the studying!

The annual "Finals Feed" is tonight in the Grill. You can go down there and get some free food served up by none other than the professors making you stay up and study! Ahhhh...sweet revenge! I am lucky thought because after my finals on Wednesday I just have to pack up a few things and then I am outta here until spring semester which starts on January 28th.

I am getting more and more ready for my study abroad course in South Africa. My girlfriend got me a brand spankin new digital camera for Christmas, so I will be sure to take some good pictures and maybe post a couple of them here on my blog for all to see.

Well not too much else to say here, I better get back to my studying! Only eight more days until Christmas! (for all you Christians out there) :-)

Last week of class

It's the last week of class, and that equals major stress time for college students! Finals are right around the corner, and everyone is busy studying and getting ready. But don't worry, I can still find time to blog to my favorite prospective students!

I'm making a list, checking it twice...
...but it has nothing to do with who's naughty or nice, it's a list of things I have to do before the end of the semester. I am a big list maker, I strongly believe in making post-it note lists each and every day. I don't have a daily planner, and my friends call me crazy for not having one, but I find it easier to list out everything I need to do in a day instead of plan days or weeks in advance. For example, right now I have a list on my computer that says:
* go to Target
* get gift for Scope party
* get wrapping paper
* finish final communications project
* start final public speaking paper
* study for math test tonight
Needless to say, I have gone through many post-it notes this semester, but they are irreplaceable! I could not live without them, well, I suppose I could, but it would be a challenge!

Looking ahead
Next week I'll be heading back to Pipestone for Christmas vacation. It will be nice to be home for awhile and just relax. However, I won't be home for long. On New Year's Eve I'll be making my way back to the Twin Cities because on New Year's Day I'll be flying out for South Africa for my J-Term Abroad! I am getting more and more excited for this every day. I really don't know what to expect, but I'm sure it will be a once in a lifetime experience. I can't wait to meet the people and find out how their culture is different from ours. I will be bringing my computer with me so hopefully I'll be able to blog from South Africa! Exciting!

Well I better be going off to class, have a great day.

Welcome to Winter!

Let it SNOW!
Hey guys, I don't know where you are, but where I am it is snowing...HARD! It is great! I have lived in Minnesota all my life and I absolutely love the snow. Of course, with the snow comes bad driving conditions and all that, but you can't beet a late night quad snowball fight! I took part in one of those this weekend. It was a great time. It really does look like Christmas out there now with the lights and the snow.

The finish line is in sight...
That's right, the semester will be over in a week and a half. I can hardly wait until Christmas vacation. Some of my classes are pretty much done right now, but in others we have big projects coming up. Finals Week starts on December 17th. I will be studying hardcore for my Spanish and Theology finals. In my other classes we have to write final papers or do final projects. I will only be home for two and a half weeks for Christmas because on New Year's Day I leave for my study abroad J-Term class to South Africa! I just got my immunizations for it and my arms are in great pain, but I can still type well enough to get a blog out this week!

Well I have to venture out into the elements and get to class. Talk to you all later!
