Harvard is now affordable for low-income families

Harvard University is embarking on an ambitious plan to admit students of low-income families for free. Will others follow?

Four years ago Harvard University created a financial aid system that will allow students of low-income families to attend the school for free. Some other Ivy League schools like Princeton and Yale are following this system, but most colleges and universities have not signed on.

A corner shop with class

While traditional downtown department stores – like Macys, just around the corner – have slowly declined through the years, Heimie’s attention to detail and customer service testify to its well-being.

The pavement outside Heimie’s Haberdashery is a dichotomy of neatly arranged, aged brick pavers fused with recent slabs of imposing bland concrete. Obesity on Campus

Almost 40 percent of Minnesota college students are obese. Universities and health care professionals vary on ways to fight the problem.

In 2007 the University of Minnesota Boynton Health Service issued a report stating that 38.4 percent of Minnesota college students are overweight or obese; now schools are trying to find new ways to combat the problem.
