Guidelines: READY FOR SUCCESS DONATIONS
Ready for Success accepts new and “gently used” business professional and business casual clothing for low-income women in the Twin Cities metro area. The clothing is carefully sorted and displayed at the two Ready for Success sites in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Clients are referred by over 100 social service agencies and are seen by appointment only. Clients are paired with a volunteer “personal shopper” who assists them in selecting three to four outfits suitable for their particular work situation.
Spring and summer clothing is accepted from April through August 15th. Fall and winter clothing is accepted from September through March 15th. Ready for Success has limited storage space and appreciates the seasonal appropriateness of your donation. All donations are tax deductible and tax receipts are available upon request.
Items Needed:
• Professional suits
• Blazers
• Slacks/pants
• Skirts
• Dresses
• Blouses and tops (solid colored tops are always in demand)
• Bras (especially in larger sizes), slips, camisoles
• NEW panties, pantyhose, knee-highs, and trouser socks
• Shoes and handbags
• Scarves and belts
• Jewelry (including watches needing batteries)
• Seasonal outerwear (coats, gloves, scarves, boots)
• Unopened personal care products (i.e. shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine hygiene)
Sizes 2 to 30 are accepted, but Ready for Success is always especially in need of sizes 14 - 28/30.
We do not accept jeans, T-shirts or sweats.
We appreciate receiving all donations in clean condition and on hangers. To make an appointment to drop off clothing donations, please call our Minneapolis site at 612-813-5600 X16, or our St. Paul site at 651-731-6400. If you would like to make a financial donation so that RFS can purchase items not frequently donated, please contact us at 612-813-5600 X16.
Volunteers are always needed to assist with clothing and to serve as “personal shoppers”. For additional information on volunteering, please call 612-871-4086.
