New or Timely Policies
Policies and procedures are always being reviewed and introduced. Keep reading to find out about changes or updates to policies such as the Tuition Refund Policy, Alumni Registration Policy, and Immunization requirements....
Tuition Refund Policy
Tuition refunds are granted according to the date you drop the class online, notify your academic advisor, or contact the Opus College of Business (OCB) Registrar. The refund percentages and dates are determined by the program offering the class and are influenced by when the classes begin and how long they run. Programs may run classes on different schedules; that is why there are different refund schedules.
If you drop your class before it begins, you will always receive a 100% refund. If you drop your class after it has begun, however, you must pay attention to the published refund schedule for that class in that program. For example, if you take an MBA class, the drop dates and corresponding refunds are listed on the evening MBA refund schedule. However, if you are an MBA student taking a BCOM, ETLS, HRDO, or SEIS class – or any course offered through another program – the drop dates are set by the other program. Refer to each program’s schedule. For clarification, contact your Academic Advisor or the OCB Registrar.
Alumni Registration Policy
If would like to return to take any graduate-level College of Business courses as an alum, please note that our policy has changed. As of fall 2006, Opus College of Business Alumni who return to take courses will be able to:
1) Audit courses for the cost of one credit. This means you can participate in the course and the course will show up on your transcript, but no academic credit will be asigned.
2) Take a course for full academic credit at full cost of tuition.
3) Financial aid is not available.
If you have any questions, please contact Deb Cornell, Assistant Director of Evening UST MBA Student Life, at dlcornell@stthomas.edu or 651-962-4225.
Immunization Forms
Dear Grad Student,
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the University of St. Thomas (UST) Student Health Service where you may access health care for most of your outpatient medical needs. In addition to an acute care clinic staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses, we have a Travel Clinic, Wellness Center and Personal Counseling Department to assist you in understanding the important role you play in your own health and well-being. We can provide you with information on how to minimize your potential for illness and injury, thus maximizing your potential for academic success.
Minnesota state law requires that all students demonstrate immunity to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and tetanus-diphtheria (TD). This information can be entered online through Murphy Online at http://registration.stthomas.edu/. Immunization dates must be entered by the 10th day of class.
Health Insurance is required of all degree-seeking graduate students taking 9 credits or more. You will be receiving a letter giving instructions on how to provide current insurance coverage information in August through Murphy Online. If you have questions regarding UST sponsored health insurance, please contact Student Assurance Services at (866) 293-6473, or the UST Student Health Insurance Office at (651) 962-6752 or (800) 328-6819, ext. 2-6752.
All records and conversations with Student Health Service staff are strictly confidential. Information will only be released with your written permission in accordance with Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Student Health Service clinic hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For further information, please visit our Web site at www.stthomas.edu/studenthealth or call (651) 962-6750 or (800) 328-6819, ext. 2-6750. Best wishes for a healthy and productive year.

Health Insurance Required for Graduate Students Taking 9 or more Credits
Beginning fall semester 2007, the University of St. Thomas requires domestic graduate/professional/law students enrolled in 9 or more credits to demonstrate health insurance coverage.
So, if you're taking 9 or more credits, be sure you've done the following:
Entering health insurance coverage information takes just four steps--
1. Go to Murphy Online at: https://banner.stthomas.edu and login with your student ID and PIN. If you forgot your ID number or PIN, contact the Tech Desk at 651-962-6230.
2. Click on “Student Services & Financial Aid”.
3. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list and click on “Student Health Insurance”. Make sure you don’t stop at “Student Health (Immunization, Health History and Physical Forms)”. The one you still need to complete - “Student Health Insurance” - is the last one on this list.
4. Follow the instructions to enter your existing insurance information (provider name/phone number and your policy number) or purchase the UST-sponsored plan.
