Streetcars evoke nostalgia for Twin Cities residents who lived through prohibition, the Great Depression and both world wars and are remembered as a major factor in the growth of Minnesota's metro area.
This luxury development tool expanded more than 500 miles across Minnesota. Commuters and families alike came to use it as a daily means of transportation, and it alleviated downtown congestion with ease. And then it was gone.
