Farmers lean on limited chemicals and being local

As growth of the U.S. organic food retail market has surged nearly 20 percent every year for the past decade, it would make sense that farmers would be hopping on the synthetic-free bandwagon. But the recent explosion in the field of organic food hasn’t pressured St. Paul’s Farmers’ Market growers to rush to become organically certified.
